Do More With Your Spark

At Spark, we have been helping our Advisors and their clients create their legacy since 2018. With our support, they have been able to harness their passion and Spark to make a difference to their own lives and to those that they love.

Our journey has culminated in Spark becoming a profit-for-purpose organisation from the 1st of July 2023.

With Spark’s Licensing business profits going directly to a host of charities, Spark leads the Australian financial services industry in raising awareness and directly contributing to important causes such as improving financial literacy in schools and the financial wellbeing of Australians.

In addition to being a social business with a profit-for-purpose model, our founder, Arthur Kallos, has personally funded the creation of Spark Hope, a public ancillary fund that Spark Advisors can donate and fundraise through. The monies from efforts along with the Groups’ profits are then gifted to our charity partners. Spark Hope (ABN 38 556 029 868) is a registered charity with the Australian Charities & Not-For-Profits Commission (ACNC).

Together, our combined efforts generate meaningful impact whilst we are supporting our clients with high-quality advice to help them build their legacy and see their Spark live on.

Working With Us Can Ignite the Spark of Those In Need

We all share a social responsibility to each other and to our communities. And now, through working with our Advisors, your support can help drive awareness and make an impact.

With Spark becoming a social business, it is one of the first of its kind in the financial services industry, supporting Advisors to provide good advice and create meaningful social impact. Our Advisors contribute to our structured giving programs which result in donations towards selected charities providing opportunities for the less-fortunate.

Spark Hope Stands for Education, Action & Change

At Spark, we have a vision for a better Australia and our Group actively contributes towards all Australians with their financial capacity and wellbeing. We understand that circumstances can make it difficult for those looking to help drive change, and so we have Spark Hope to subsidise financial support through our Advisors who provide financial education & advice.

So How Can We Make It Happen?

Spark Advisors empower individuals to live a meaningful life on their own terms whilst encouraging the financial industry to unite for a common good. We believe that it is possible to democratise access to money and financial advice, thereby ending systemic and general social inequity, while restoring trust in the financial industry. To achieve this, the Spark Legacy program has been designed around three pillars.

Hope

A centralised Public Ancillary Fund (PuAF) has been created, into which Spark stakeholders can donate & fundraise towards, along with collecting the profits from Spark Financial Group. These funds are donated to a host of charities whose purpose is to support vulnerable & disadvantaged young Australians. The PuAF is managed by three independent Directors and form the Spark Legacy Committee along with our Founder Arthur Kallos. The voluntary time provided by Spark Advisors towards these charities presents an opportunity for Spark Advisors to deliver positive changes at grassroots level in their own communities, raise awareness and help end systemic issues caused by a lack of financial literacy.

Advocacy

Through the creation of structured giving programs with selected charities, our Spark Advisors contribute to the wellbeing of Australians who are vulnerable or disadvantaged. These programs are delivered one-on-one, one to many or via scale using Spark’s digital platforms. With increased financial education and support, we hope to see a reduction in the rate of financial hardship, financial abuse and suicide and an increase in financial wellbeing.

Leadership

Investing in our Advisor relationships is the cornerstone of Spark Legacy. Spark Advisors at the top of our stakeholder list, we place greater importance on the sustainability of our Advisors rather than the profit for shareholders. This ethos ensures that the needs of our Advisors are placed at the centre of everything we do. With the sum of effort generated from our organisation being donated to charities, we can lead with the altruism needed to help Financial Planning become a Profession.

Positive Masculinity Foundation

Positive Masculinity is an essential component in creating a world where everyone feels respected and valued.

The Foundation for Positive Masculinity (+M) has a mission to promote the prevention and control of behaviours that are harmful for boys and young men to ensure that boys and men are connected, authentic and are motivated. The Foundation pursues this mission through education and training, research and partnerships.

The Foundation for Positive Masculinity provides resources, practices, curriculum and evidence-based advice for boys, their parents, guardians and teachers.

Positive masculinity is the expression of attitudes and behaviors that represent character strengths and virtues, which can be exhibited by individuals of any gender. These qualities are demonstrated and practiced by males for the collective benefit of both themselves and the community.

The Foundation for Positive Masculinity is driven by developing a masculinity which is:

  • Connected: where boys and men have and keep positive friendships and relationships.
  • Authentic: where boys and men are kind and compassionate in their sense of self.
  • Motivated: where boys and men know how to be, and are, good people.
